Manuel A. Roxas Elementary School has been chosen as one of the finalist for the much anticipated Digital Filipino Web Awards under the School / University Category.

Hey! getting a site nominated is not easy! after going through rigid if not under tight scrutiny of watchful eyes of judges, it’s like going through an eye of a needle! or looking for a needle in a haystack! not to mention sites from large schools and universities are quite an overkill if it was to be compared to a small school like ours.

In behalf of our Teachers, Students, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, Parents, Clienteles and Stockholders  of our School “The Community” we need your prayers and support in making this simple dream a reality.

In on a verge of overdosing myself to death!

Kidding! This is not your usual suicidal story to hear from!

I got sick a few days after the Fellowship Bloggers Networking which was held at pagcor davao. First; I had a slight headache, cough caused by the over consumption of cigar, drinking 1 litter from giant beer mug, then fever!, my taste buds were acting differently! food tasted somewhat funny! is what you get when you’re darn sick!.

Scrammed to get myself cured, there’s a medicine kit of our school, got 10 pieces of paracetamol and ordered my officemate Leah to buy me cough tablets “sinecod forte” while she was on the run making her check deposit. (super rich! hehehe..)

It really feels different when you’re about to attend the most anticipated Blogging Networking Fellowship event especially when the most respected blogger in the blogging community “Janett Toral” of Digital Filipino will be present. First, it was feeling of a sudden surge of excitement coupled with adrenaline rush, thus this got me to come to Grand Regal Hotel very early, signed up the attendance around 4:30 p.m., funny thing about is; the waiters, staff, etc. were busy preparing the venue, I end myself watching over them, poking around, waiting for other bloggers to come…..

I’ve also got to know a friend who all suddenly approached and tapped me on the back, quite surprised, introduced himself as “Gary Viray“, who’s in turn responsible for helping and setting up and making the event possible. He also has huge authority in Technorati which makes me dig my fingers into nosebleed, imagine! maintaining 45-200 blogs!

Finally! I’ve transferred to a new home a few months ago at Ecoland (hehehe) somewhere at Matina Executive Homes.. (secret.. i won’t disclose what particular street address I’m staying right now, I don’t want anybody stalking around, haha..). The good news is, I’m staying there for free simply because the owner of the house who’s my aunt “Tita Cherrie” is at the states, San Francisco working there and I’m the caretaker of the house, which is for rent, still looking for potential clients/customers..

The bad news is; the expenses, managing and taking care of the house is indeed a responsibility I have to make, well anyway that’s manageable, OK, back to basics, I rode a passenger tricycle and headed straight to SM Davao, to my surprise, I saw vehicles crowding it’s way to the entrance, then, thinking.. SM Davao is having a midnight sale, no wonder. I was hungry, imagine I haven’t eaten my breakfast and lunch, and my stomach is grumbling, I went to Jollibee Fastfood, coincidentally met an officemate who’s a sure SM fan shopper, ordered 1 piece hot and spicy chicken joy, 1 iron fortified rice, softdrink and regular french fries. Finger licking good, I may say, forgot to get some spoon and fork ate using my bare hands, fully loaded, I watched movie Max Payne starred by Mark Wahlberg.

Janette Toral of DigitalFilipino Club is going to hold a Fellowship/Networking event showcasing e-commerce, bloggers and industry players. The excepts are as follows:

For more than 20 years, my mother has worked with computers at NASA. So, when she developed a pain in her hands the diagnosis seemed easy — Repetitive Stress Injury. Except that it wasn’t so easy. As her mysterious symptoms progressed it varied — RSI, fibromyalgia (unexplained pain), Lyme Disease, and so forth. It was only after visits to many specialists over a number of years that the diagnosis settled — Parkinson’s Disease. Since there is no clear test for Parkinson’s — it is defined by its symptoms — we only grew certain as those symptoms developed and as her medications began to alleviate them.

My mother had always been haunted by Parkinson’s because her aunt had suffered from it. I had often reasoned with her that since Parkinson’s is not hereditary (there is not a strong correlation of Parkinson’s incidence among close relatives), she had little to fear.

In 2004, my wife, Anne, introduced me to her future cofounders in 23andMe as they were studying the genetics of Parkinson’s Disease. As with my mother’s fear, I was skeptical about the study. I reasoned that if there was much to be learned about Parkinson’s in the genome, there would have to be a high percentage of inherited cases. In fact, I appeared to be right in that this particular study did not bear immediate fruit.

Hoping sooner or later he’ll find a cure for parkinsons disease, also, I’ve been thinking the other google key executives “Eric Schmidt” and “Larry Page” soon have a blogs of their own.

The Department of Education - Davao City Division and Department of Education - Region 11 now has google sitelinks. To see the DepEd Davao City Division sitelinks, fire up mozilla browser browse google.com and in the google seach tab type: “deped davao city” you’ll see the results, then for DepED - Region 11, type “deped region xi“.

Google sitelinks are  site structure that shows results that are useful to users, it is somewhat akin to search engine results page, it enables easy user navigation, acts like a shortcuts to commonly used links, quickly allows users to find information they’re looking for.

According to google, sitelinks are completely automated, so there’s no way or workarounds in putting this in these hacked or modified tweaks your site, but you can modify the metatags of your site structure by putting keywords and other relevant terms that best describes your site. Sitelinks also boost the search engine visibility of the site, with the right keywords, backlinks, paid directory submissions and experimentation sites will rank higher.
